Covergence, a provider of solutions for scaling and securing access to VoIP and other services based on the Session Initiation Protocol, have announced that iTalk Broadband Corporation will use Convergence’s Eclipse SIP security solution to deliver “the industry’s first secure residential VoIP service.”

The iTalkBB solution uses Covergence’s Eclipse Session Manager to scale and secure connections at the iTalkBB subscriber-edge that, when combined with Linksys’ SPA2102 broadband voice adapter deployed on the subscriber premises, can connect a standard telephone to their broadband internet connection.

Since both the Eclipse and the SPA2102 support the standard for secure signaling (TLS) and the standard for secure media (SRTP), iTalkBB can deploy fully encrypted, validated and authenticated subscriber connections. iTalkBB is a subsidiary of iTalk Global Communications, Inc., a firm which is billed as a “pioneer in the Voice over Internet Protocol revolution.”

Initally was ok but then no phone could come in. wanted to cancel but found already trapped in their very miss-leading terms, if not cheating on purpose.
