An excellent packet

Packet Island announced today that Internet Telephony magazine has named the company’s PacketSmart VoIP Lifecycle Management solution a recipient of a 2006 Internet Telephony Excellence Award.

Packet Island’s VoIP lifecycle management solution was designed to eliminate the need for truck rolls and expensive on-site technician time for VoIP service providers targeting the SMB market. The solution is based on purpose-built micro-appliances on the PacketSmart software as a service platform hosted at a Tier-1 data center.

In giving the excellence award, Internet Telephony editor-in-chief Rich Tehrani said that “taking risks to advance VoIP technology and provide real solutions has earned Packet Island recognition.” Tehrani went on to state that PacketSmart VoIP Lifecycle Management Solution has excelled in the VoIP/IP telephony industry, and “most importantly, its customers are willing to offer their testaments of support.”

Internet Telephony has been published monthly since February 1998, offering views of the converged communications space. The magazine today boasts a circulation of 55,000.
